Oscar Nominations 2018: Here's the Complete List of Oscar Nods

January 23, 2018

The Oscar nominations were announced early Tuesday morning. Hosted by Andy Serkis (Planet of the Apes, Black Panther) and Tiffany Haddish (Girl Trip), the announcement event was the perfect blend of dignity and comic relief - especially when it came to Tiffany Haddish botching names but resiliently laughing it off as they kept the ball rolling.

As always, there were quite a few surprises (such as the nine films announced for "Best Picture") along with a few snubs. Perhaps two of the biggest surprises were:

  1. Mary J. Blige, Oscar Nominee? Singer-turned-actress Mary J. Blige was announced as a first-time Oscar nominee for her performance in Mudbound. (Way to go, MJB!
  2. Kevin Spacey vs Christopher Plummer: Christopher Plummer received a nomination for his performance in All the Money in the World - a film that essentially called him in as a last-minute substitution to replace Kevin Spacey.
